What is Holistic Nutrition?

fresh produce rainbowHolistic nutrition combines nutrition principles and holistic health for an all-encompassing approach to diet and lifestyle. Professionals trained in holistic nutrition approach wellness from a whole-person perspective, meaning that every part of the human body is connected ‒ from physical to mental and emotional health. Certified holistic nutritional consultants assess their client’s diet, stress, exercise, alcohol consumption, sleep, relaxation and overall lifestyle practices, among other factors, and monitor their clients’ progress toward their health goals.

They are conscientious and well-informed about the connections between the environment, toxins, food production and preparation, and the resulting quality of food. They recommend whole foods that are natural, alive and good quality and which support sustainable farming practices and a healthy environment.

They encourage the use of non-toxic, environmentally friendly household and personal products. Most importantly, they promote self-responsibility by empowering clients through personalized education and information.
